Airway Medical Suction Unit (AMSU)

By Simon Hall, Airway Medical Ltd Added 19th Jul, 2021 Updated 10th Aug, 2021

Airway Medical are developing portable suction units that are lighter, smaller, and cheaper than current technology, while being equally as effective. They have no moving parts, they do not rely on electricity. Within the emergency healthcare setting they are novel and disruptive. For developing countries with limited infrastructure they offer a new viable option for airway management. For patients requiring suction for chronic illnesses we provide greater mobility. Our core ethos is environmental and social responsibility. Our products are designed to be as sustainable as is possible, we innovate by simplification. We are spearheading the new age of a net zero NHS.

About

We are currently working through our clinical evaulation phase, and would welcome partners for usability studies as part of this process.

We are also looking into specific use cases for the AMSU outside of emergency medicine. We would very much like to work with clinicians and patients in the chronic illness community that have a defined need for airway suction.

Please do get in touch if you would like to take part in the usability and/or clinical aspects of this research.

Airway Medical is a company set up by a clinical engineer, with over 35 years’ experience working with the NHS, to tackle issues around sustainability and mobility with suction devices. We have a suite of products, all of which are novel, disruptive, environmentally sustainable, and extremely effective.

Imagine a world where no one dies due to a blocked airway.
