MediBioSense VitalPatch - remote patient monitoring

By Deb Whitehall, MediBioSense Ltd Added 28th Feb, 2023 Updated 26th Apr, 2023

The MediBioSense VitalPatch supports NHS healthcare services by bridging gaps in healthcare provision ahead of increased demand as well as the overall pressure on the NHS (costs, workforce, facilities etc). Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) involves the constant remote care of patients by their Clinician, often to track physical symptoms, chronic conditions, or post-hospitalization rehabilitation.RPM can be used to manage patients health without admitting a patient meaning providers can give the best value-based care (VBC) and can reduce overall costs.

About

MediBioSense VitalPatch is an end-to-end remote patient monitoring solution that enables constant and unprecedented insight into patient health.  The VitalPatch enables clinicians to monitor patients while they recover from the comfort of their own surroundings. The VitalPatch is a 7 day wearable disposal patch, which measures continuously in real-time 10 vital signs simultaneously; ECG, Heart Rate, RR Interval, Respiratory Rate, Body & Skin Temperature, Body Posture, Fall Detection, Activity including steps, Blood Pressure and Sp02 use 3rd party devices. We also provide real-time ECG analysis detecting up to 21 Arrhythmia's. The VitalPatch is FDA / CE (Class IIa) certified for medical use.  The VitalPatch can be used for in-Hospital Monitoring, Hospital avoidance, manage Chronic Conditions, Virtual Wards / Hospital at Home Services, Cinical Trials and Research.

The Real-time Cardiac/ECG reporting service replaces the traditional Holter with an unobtrusive wearable patch (CE/FDA medically approved). No more waiting weeks for ECG results (as reports are instant), costly outpatient appointments. non compliant patients.

We already work with a number of NHS organisations who are using the VitalPatch for monitoring Cardiology, Frailty, Transient Loss of Conciousness (TLOC), Heart Failure, early discharge and Virtual Wards.  Our real world evaluation has shown the potential for large ecenomic benefit, early findings shows that using RPM in hospital at home being safe and acceptable to patients and clinicians, as well as holding significant promise in enhancing clinicial resource efficiency and coordination that will be critical to scaling of acute care delivery in the home.
